Reply:Look bruh, I never failed a test yet. I have a CWB MCAW cert 1GF 2GF , a AWS SMAW 3G 4G 1” plate and at my current job I passed 3G 4G Aluminum MIG and 3G TIG we build and repair Coast Guard MLB vessels. I ran 0.45 wire and 1/16th wire FCAW millers this company has a Lincoln with a LN 22 wire feeder. So I am asking to get a baseline so I know a good starting point. Do you want me to post pictures of my welds both structural steel and aluminum or post pictures from my first shop where I designed and fabricated various builds. So don’t talk to me like I’m some rookie or some punk bruh. I’m asking humbly for help not for some smart a$$ response with condescending sarcasm to go with it. If u don’t want to help keep it moving bruh.
Reply:Not trying to sound like a total prick. That kinda pissed me off bc I’m legit asking for baseline to those positions so when I do set myMachine up by welding on scraps pieces it’ll be a quicker process since the test are on 1 inch plates they take a while to complete due to the inter pass temp cool down periods.
Reply:Probably about 24 volts or so and myself I prefer a little slower wire speed for uphill. For 1/16 I run about 190 wire going uphill. Probably need little more wire then that with .052 wire and check the calibration on the machine, sometimes there + or - 4 volts. And wire feeders can all feed different too. I can do it by eye to get it close and make sure it looks about right. Flat welding I prefer about 210 225 wire with 1/16 wire.

took this test today and passed running 25 volts and 190 wire is what the feeder said with 1/16 wire. Looking over with flashlight to make sure I got all the slag each time and took a blow gun to help cool it off every couple passes

Reply:Yes post you’re pics of you’re welds and stuff you weld. It’s required!
Reply:If you using a wire E71T-1 when all settings and welding is correct speed and stickout are right the flux will fall off as usual weld. Dave
