I recently needed some 4" channel so I ran down to Logan steel and found a piece of the right length. It happened to be galvanized but I bought it anyway. I will take off the galvanize before welding and the rest will have some rust protection. When cutting the channel it seemed a lot softer to me. I'm questioning my imagination and the strength of what I bought. Since it's leftovers or drops there is no material data. I've never seen structural steel strength less than 32,000 psi. Anyone ever run across this? Thanks.
And I can’t type in the dark either. Edit won’t let me fix the subject. Ugh.Last edited by Fab54; 12 Hours Ago at 03:43 PM.Millermatic 211Lincoln Precision TIG 225Century 250 MIGLincoln 225 AC Box (sold)I support my local welding store (Amazon, McMasterCarr, Cyberweld, EBay).
