Had a little problem. Was going to just replace the cross 2" X 4" piece with new until I priced it then decided on doing it this way. it'll work and be stronger.

Reply:That's a very sensible repair. I think we're all finding ways to use less steel these days. It's so damn expensive! You, and everybody else, knows that I can't weld round stuff worth a hoot. I like the way you switched from stick on the straight welds, to wire on the round weld. I'm able to control the shorter gun in a round situation much better than I can control a stinger. I just don't have the muscle memory/skill for round things.I was watching an IC Weld video, and noticed that he will take the stinger, and point the rod straight down around a round flange, or whatever, and keep it straight as he moves it around the piece. Makes for a very nice looking weld in something that isn't absolutely needing a deep throated fillet. I tried it the other day, and was fairly pleased with the result. Anything that improves my circular welding abilities is a God Send.BTW............you're not supposed to try lifting pickup trucks with those bale spikes

Reply:Anyways, it looks like wire on the Conus fitting?????????????
Reply:Na it's stick all the way out. I watch I C weld all the time and am more amazed every time, especially his torch work.Trailblazer 302Hobart Stickmate AC/DCLincoln SP 135 TSmith torchSpoolmatic 30A
