My weld pak 100 stopped feeding wire. Did some digging to find out that the small plastic gear on the wire feed motor has a crack in it. Can I get that plastic gear by itself or do you have to replace the entire gear box and motor? I tried ordering a wire feed motor but what I got did not fit and that is when I started looking Any ideas on where to get parts is appreciated Thanks
Reply:Some of those older welders, the drive motors have been obsolete for some time.there was an update kit that replaced the motor and complete drive housing.Basically what was used in a newer welder. The kit may not be available but I think you can get the parts. Lincoln Tech support might help if you get one of the older techs. Post the code number from your welder. then I can look up the correct parts list. Or you can go to lincoln's web site and look up the parts manual tab. under the resources tab. Then enter as a guest. enter code number in the box and select your welder. The correct parts list should be available.  once you have part numbers you can check on line or your favorite store and see if it is available or obsolete.OLD drive the brass gun block is square, motor and gear box are bolted on. NEWER Brass gun block is 6 sided and pushed into the plastic housing. Parts for the newer style should be still available. there are two different motors that work with the newer housing.Last edited by ccawgc; 3 Weeks Ago at 02:14 AM.

Reply:Since I have not been able to find the part ISuper glued the crack in the small plastic gear since all of the other gears and motor were working. Welded yesterday in small interval so the machine would not get too hot. All seemed to work fine. Will see how long it holds up.Last edited by Tsayon; 3 Weeks Ago at 07:39 AM.Reason: Left out a word
Reply:While you have the gear functional,, get some dimensions, and fab a 3D printed replacement.

Reply:If you can put the part into CAD you can have a company 3D print it and send it to you. Shapeways is one company I'm aware of. They can 3D print in steel and aluminum. I think the steel 3D prints are done by printing out steel powder with a binder then sintering it in an oven. The aluminum is done by putting down layers if aluminum powder and fusing them with a laser beam. I'm not sure how the cost adds up compared to having it machined.Sent from my Lincoln Buzzbox using Tapatalk
