In searching for a new grinder I found this place online. Something seems a little odd but they advertise good prices for tools. Anyone heard of them before?https://www.btimvs.com/index.php?rou...tegory&path=19GlenRed-D-Arc EX300 (Miller XMT304)Hobart Champion 16Hobart Hefty CC/CVHobart Handler 140Lotos LTP5000D

Reply:The website is about 13 months old and registered to Harvey Watkins of Network Air:https://www.whois.com/whois/btimvs.comLooks sketchy. I'd be suspicious too.
Reply:Sure is a good price for the 52 x 14 ga.hydraulic shear. ( :/ )Everything seems to be $65-80.Last edited by jpump5; 1 Week Ago at 07:47 AM.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
Reply:WHAT did your mother tell you!!??If it is too good to be true,, it is a scam!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:My brother got roped in on one of those to good to be tru deal sites they actually had a fake paypal domain set up so when you went to pay it looked like you were paying with paypal but had to retype your credit card otherwise it was seamless so looked ligit. about a 400.00 lesson.Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
Reply:IF you feel lucky, go ahead and let us know. If you don't shop local, go to Amazon and get an 11 amp DeWalt for $90.00 https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DWE402...7-93deae8f9840Or a Metabo 11 amp for $115.00 https://www.amazon.com/Metabo-603624...7-93deae8f9840I would also consider a variable speed one. Using a wire wheel at slower speeds will increase the life of the wires.
Reply:Chances are the best case scenario is they take your money and send you counterfeit tools. Worst case they glean your credit info and a year from now youre using computers at the library to tell us about it.:
Reply:Thanks for all the input. I figured that a place that sells clothing and power tools can't be legit. I'll definitely be steering clear of that one.I'm leaning toward a variable speed Metabo to replace an old DeWalt. There is a local place that sells DeWalt, but Metabo isn't so common around here.GlenRed-D-Arc EX300 (Miller XMT304)Hobart Champion 16Hobart Hefty CC/CVHobart Handler 140Lotos LTP5000D |
