Looking for some input on which media for sandblasting stainless. Looking for a matte finish and there are about a million different media to use. Not looking for a shinny finish, I have a small cabinet that the piece will fit in, just want it to look better than wire brushed and have an even and decent smooth finish. it will not be painted hence the need for a nice finish. Thanks
Reply:Finish on stainless comes up when discussing revolvers,, pistols, etc,,Get a cheap blaster, and experiment. There are many materials, everything from sand to glass beads, to corn cob, or walnut hulls.Anything that the media blaster can move can be tried,, baking soda, anything,,hopefully, you will find a media that YOU like,,
Reply:I just buy bags from Home Depot or Lowes foe sandblasting it is about $6.00 for 60 pounds. But I have open air and just let fly.Dave

Reply:For small stuff, I hear the vibrating troughs work great. You can easily control the polish in them. |
