305g with 12vs

I have been messing around with my new to me 12vs with .052 dualshield on my 305g. (Waiting on .045 rollers)The 305 seems to be grunting more than when burning 1/4 rod, to the point its not maintaining voltage.Should I be able to crank the voltage on the 305 and be able to fly at it with .052?I have around 70 feet of relatively new 1/0 cable  total with double ground clamps thru a set of shell ryn reels. Nothing seems to be getting excessively hot.The meters from the 12vs to the 305 show about 5v difference at 200a , can that be normal? When I have time I will do some tests and record  volts wfs and amps

Reply:Another issue may be all of the coils left on the reel. This creates an inductor. Try it will all of the leads off the spools laid out with minimal coils.Research DC volt/current & inductive coils.
Reply:FYI it 10 pound roll. It maybe E71T-1 When I ran that size the best amperage I found was 200 amps. The paperwork said you can go higher. But happy at 180 to 200 amps.I had 25 foot cable to wire feed and 50 foot ground and use s Tweco 400 on 15 foot cableDave
