Good morning,When I use my welder for back up power, all of my newer style arc fault breakers trip. From what I can tell it's because the welder has a bonded neutral. Does anyone know how to convert this welder to a floating neutral? FYI, I am back feeding through my welder plug in the shop to the main panel in the shop, then power goes to the sub panel in the house. Main disconnect is always open when on generator power. Thank you!
Reply:Yes I know how to float the neutral but what will you do when you just need the welder its got to be bonded.Last edited by Kpack; 1 Day Ago at 12:29 PM.
Reply:You have a lot of studying up to do. Electricity to your house is pretty serious and the insurance company is serious also. I dont know of a simple way to unbond the neutral and bond it back when needed. Maybe some of the guys here know a simple way.
Reply:If it's easy to change it back, I can do that. If it's a pain to change it back and forth, I thought I might be able to run a switch of some kind to switch it back and forth. |
