Reply:Have you tried the parts counter of your local equipment dealer or rental yard? Anyplace that works on engineswith Murphy controls on compressors , generators , pumps , etc. That F W Murphy stuff seems to befairly common on stationary equipment.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
Reply:If it is a Perkins you need engine model and go to a Perkins dealer
Reply:Important info... Is this a sensor for an electric gauge or a temp switch for shutdown?
Reply:My sensor "quit" that was on my IH 584 diesel tractor. The exact replacement was over $100,,,

I bought a cheap one at a local auto parts store,, then, I used a potentiometer to get the gauge to indicate the middle of the "safe" range when the engine was at operating temp.(The only difference from sensor "A" to sensor "B" is the resistance reading when at temperature)THEN,, I replaced the potentiometer with a resistor that was the same as the potentiometer read with a multimeter. That was a decade ago,, it still works perfectly,, it even showed the engine was overheating when the fanbelt was loose one time,,I think my total cost was about $12. |
