Reply:The guy says the carburetor is missing.  How difficult is it to find a carb for an old Wisconsin engine? He said his grandfather took the carb off to repair it then never got around to it.
Reply:Tractor salvage yard has most parts even the engine. Dave

Reply:Thanks!  I also found a running used engine for $250.
Reply:I would buy that welder for the novelty of taking it apart,, if nothing else,, at that price.Heck, the two car batteries would give you back over 10% of your purchase price when you scrap them,,If the machine welds,, you would have the buy of the decade,, as far as welding machines go,, there are so many eBay import new carbs for less than $15,, something should work, if nothing more than to test the engine.
Reply:Its great if you are a junk collector, if you want to weld get something modern.www.urkafarms.com

Reply:A friend of mine had what I think was a similar welder(looked similar). It welded beautifully, but he had a problem with the throttle linkage adjustment. I think hesold it without ever getting the issue sorted out.If you’re going to adapt a carburetor, you might havesome headaches if you want throttle mechanism towork properly. For $150, I’d buy it, but I like old stuff.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
Reply:Anybody know what type of carburetor is on a G-213?

Reply:My mistake.  The welder is a Hobart G-213 (I think).  That makes the motor a Wisconsin TJD.  The owner is confirming the model number for me today, but I think I'm going to just pull the trigger.  I bet I can get it working for under $300 (welder + carb).

Reply:I have one and it welds great. Dave, mine has 120v AC. The fine amp knob is missing but you could probably adapt another to it. I have the engine and welder manuals. PM me  your email add and I'll email them to you. With the 2 batts in series it cranks via windings in the welder and if they're connected backward it will still crank but will draw the batts down. Ask me how I know.Last edited by mla2ofus; 19 Hours Ago at 08:46 AM.Ol' Stonebreaker  "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw

Reply:On that carb...When I google "Zenith series 68" it pulls up carburetors on Ebay for $80 and carburetors on Amazon and private sites for $400--that don't look any different. Is there any difference between these carburetors or is that just people jacking up the price?Last edited by ericsarratt; 17 Hours Ago at 10:20 AM.

Reply:The seller never showed up.  I sat at the address he gave me for an hour.  During that time I received multiple texts from him saying that he would be there in a few minutes or that he was on his way, etc.  Finally, I realized that no matter what the texts said he was not going to show up.Weird.Not sure what kind of thing goes on in people's heads or why they play games like this.I just don't get it or see the payoff.I didn't text him bad things or call him and curse him out.Just moving along.Last edited by ericsarratt; 5 Hours Ago at 09:55 PM.
Reply:I have had a few of that type in pass mainly selling.Dave
