Hi allPlease forgive me if this question has been answered to many times or if it is a nonsensical question.Clearly we would want to have the surface as clean as possible with any type of electrodeBut i seem to have picked up that 7014 demands clean well prepared surfaces for a good weld But 7018 is more forgiving. Is this true? And what of 7024? is it also "forgiving" when it comes to surface prep?
Reply:No they are all about the same, and they are all somewhat tolerant of scale. However for best results you should clean off the mill scale with a grinder. No other cleaning is needed and no need for acetone or anything crazy.Miller Multimatic 255
Reply:Get yourself a couple of these, you won't regret it. Best thing I have ever tried for mill scale removal. The mill scale comes off SUPER FAST and ridiculously easy with these wheels, they are like no other wheel I have ever used. https://weldmongerstore.com/products...e-wheel-15l843Miller Multimatic 255 |
