I’ve noticed here lately when running 6010’s, 6011’s and, 7018’s it does t seem to want to weld like it use to. Almost like it’s dropping amps every once in a while.I recently acquired a 12vs x-treme non digital model and tried using it for the first time yesterday. It seemed like it just didn’t want to get hot enough.I hooked my multimeter up where the leads connect to the box and to the ground clamp the voltage were kind of all over the place.I assumed my leads were bad since they are old with a few hard spots, and a little cracking in the insulation causing my voltage drop.so I backed up to the lugs on the machine and checked it there. While checking at the machine I wasn’t welding I just checked the difference between idle and high idle. I was wondering if y’all could take a look at the numbers and see what you think about them. The machine was set on (wire+,  wire (17-28volts) and then I adjusted the fine voltage knob from 1-10. At the lugs on the machine   idle ——— high idle1) 13.98— 212) 14.5— 23.203) 15.22– 24.384) 15.45– 24.975)16— 25.336) 16.60– 25.807) 16.75– 26.258) 16.90–26.809)17–27.2410)17.20–27.80ive tried running .035 hardwire and .045 dual shield with polarity both ways the suitcase set to cv and cc. In cv mode it welds like crapi also just checked in stick +, coarse adjustment In the middle (75-150) amps, fine adjust maxed out on 10 on idle it’s reading 36 volts at the lead lugs on high idle it’s reading 66 volts dc at the lead lugsLast edited by CodyJ; 15 Hours Ago at 12:45 PM.
