Lincoln AC 225 S Code 7050-202 what year?

Reply:Thank you for that Pipeliner.  Yeah I just thought it might be a little interesting to any potential buyers that are interested in older copper winding vs. aluminum.  The year could indicate better build quality.  But yeah it makes sparks LOL...This is the text in my for sale add.Linconln Electric 225 Amp Stick Welder AC 225 S - $100 (Stockton)Trusty old Lincoln Electric Tombstone Stick Welder for sale. AC 225 S Code 7050-202 I am not sure of the year but it is old and made with quality copper coil windings. It is bullet proof and will last forever. It has a new Nema 6-50P power plug installed and has a 14' ground lead and 19' stinger lead. It has an old school heavy duty ground clamp and is ready to weld. This is a great little machine to learn to weld with. I learned to weld on a machine just like this one in High School. There is nothing wrong with the welder. Reply:I have one that says 7533-704 I have been trying to follow the date code thread, but in the example of 806 I'm not getting how that translates to the 8th year of the eighties.  Any help deciphering 7533-704 would be greatly appreciated.  This was my fathers, and he likely bought it in the 70's so I know I'm partly on the right track and I get April.Thanks
Reply:Seems like first digit of the  ode is the decade, first code of the second digits is year, last digit is month? Perhaps.So you may have a '77 from April... see first 7 is "seventies", second "7" would make " 77 ". Last digit is "4" Jan, Feb, Mar, April.   Possibly that easy😬
