I finally found the leak that sucked my compressor dry. 100' of Husky air hose on a Husky manual reel. The black arrow shows where the leak is. The red arrow points to the stem that's really floppy and feels potentially suspicious to me. I bought it on FB Marketplace. Theoretically Husky has a lifetime warranty but they don't make this any more. I prefer a manual reel and my 100' of hose.So these fittings are new to me. I don't know where to get replacements or if a replacement/repair is even possible. A new manual reel is $25 - $30. I always think of repairing before buying new but in this case is it even possible or worth it?

Reply:Definitely repairable. Those swivel fittings use O-ring seals. Take it apart, replace the O rings. Keep in mind that the old O rings are going to be compressed, so don't use them to size your new O rings. Measure the O ring groove and the bore that they seal against.Make sure you lubricate the O rings. You want to use grease, not oil, here. Make sure that the grease you use is compatible with the type of O rings that you use.I recommend Buna N O-rings for this application as they aught to be more abrasion resistant. A combination of abrasion and the O-rings taking a set (permanent deformation) is likely the cause of failure. Here's an O ring kit. Go ahead and buy the Metric and SAE. Never know when you're gonna need an O ring! https://www.amazon.com/BUSY-CORNER-U...8-3&th=1&psc=1Sent from my Lincoln Buzzbox using Tapatalk
Reply:Only way I can figure out how to take it apart is that one nut. Is that all there is to it?

Reply:I'm going to head out to my shop in a minute. I'll take the one off my hose reel and take some pictures.

The only seals should be inside of that brass piece that your quick coupler is attached to. Just a pair of O rings. Other than that, it should just be NPT fittings. Undo them, add some PTFE tape (I like Hurcules MegaLoc), and tighten them down.Sent from my Lincoln Buzzbox using Tapatalk

Reply:Yep, a snap ring. It was rotated around back and I didn't see it. But if a nut is there, I'm guessing it'll unscrew for further access. I'll get into it tomorrow, can't tonight. The wife wants me to watch a movie with her.
