Eastwood Welders

Hey Everybody,Anybody know who makes Eastwood welders or perhaps have an opinion/advice on them? Been looking for a month or so and don't want to make yet another mistake (more on that in another thread, CAN YOU SAY CLARKE 190EN) Eastwood has one on sale today at this location:http://www.eastwood.com/mig-175-weld...RCCODE=1SE0760Any advice is appreciated.ThanksPat
Reply:Please try using the search function.  This has been covered many times.  Most now are Low bid Chinese made machines...  some of the older stuff was made by clarke, century etc. From what I have read..  check out longevity products and u will see they are near identical to some of the. Eastwood stuff. Reply:I can tell you firsthand that while their warranty may be good for the original purchaser (it's pretty much an exchange warranty - if something is wrong they will just send you a whole new welder), once the original warranty expires, you are completely out of luck.  They will give you NO help, NO service, and they will sell you NO parts for the welder.  They will not give you any diagrams, schematics, advice, or anything to help you fix a problem with a welder that is out of warranty.

Reply:They are built by Lotos and the only difference is that Eastwoods 175 has a sloped back front case on it compared to a Lotos 175 which is all square case. The internals are exactly the same circuitry and and parts used in both welders. I have had both here at the same time and went over them with a fine tooth comb and they are a match to the last resistor used in them.
