A couple of years ago I bought an old Lincoln square wave tig 355 for my shop at home. Its got every feature I ever hoped for. It started shutting down periodically when Im working it in the stick mode. As long as I am working it steadily it seems to work fine. If i am tacking up and it has extended run time between welds it seems to be what triggers the shutdown. It may work perfectly for 10 hours or it may run 10 minutes before it quits. It will restart immediately with no problem. I changed the secondary thermostat and the main contacts just to rule them out. Didnt fix the problem. Im a better welding machine operator than a welding machine fixer, but Im hoping someone may have already experienced this problem and was able to overcome it.
Reply:Not a technician, but fan? Sounds like overheating.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 120www.10FtDrillBit.comwww.MyWelds.com - pictures of my work |
