What is a 40' lead worth?

I was going through some old crap in my shed and came across a lead for an old Lincoln tombstone I had. I was going to strip it and turn it in for the scrap, but it is in good usable condition. The cover is still plyable and not cracked. Figure it might be worth more to a welder than it is for scrap. Is $75 unreasonable?
Reply:What gauge is the wire ? Is there a stinger, or work(ground)clamp attached ? Is there a lug one end ? The heavier the gauge, the more stuff it has on it (clamps/lugs/stinger) the more it will be worth.

Reply:I believe it is 2AWG. It will need new ends. Looks like it can be had for about $100 new. Probably closer to $50 would be a good price I suppose.

Reply:I see prepared copper is over $3 a pound for scrap. Might be worth more that way.
Reply:Scrap it... As a reference- Scrap copper is say $3.00 per pound, welding lead is $3.25 per pound. It makes the lost sense to just scrap it.
