Im looking at buying one of these and I have a few questions. Ive been trying to find answers through the forum so if anyone has links to previous discussed topics please help me out1. The (2) outlets on the 230 side
. Is there a proper way to make a pigtail to connect them both for 29 amps?2. Can I run the CV option on that outlet or is that only for a voltage sensing wire feeder? Im interested in running a small inverter MIG machine3. Ive seen a picture of an old auction add that someone had wired up a separate 30 amp outlet bolted to the side of the machine. Anyone know how that is done ?Thank you Mike
Reply:https://www.lincolnelectric.com/asse...oln3/im308.pdfThat is the manual. I don't think I understand exactly what you are asking but I would say the max 230v output is more like 26 amps than 29 and I don't know how steady-for how long it could supply that. I don't see why you couldn't change what appears to be a double 20 amp 230v duplex outlet for a single 30 amp plug but again I don't know how long it could supply full amperage. No doubt there will be concerns regarding running electronics off that small a generator but the manual says it can run an LN-7 wire feeder for MIG from the outlets and the CV tap if it has that option.---Meltedmetal
Reply:2 things, it wont make more power changing the outlet,,, you can parallel it in to one. The machine has 120 outlets and 240, that is not 120/240. But,,, the upside is this machine has a LOT of power and mine will start 5 hp motor without a blink. Very good welding machine, I have never used one for wire but have ran a whole can of 5/32 lo hy in a day with it.
