My little stickweld 140 has been a great machine for it's 30 hours of use until yesterday. I plugged it in and discovered my indicator showing 11 although the amp dial was set above 90. Even with the dial turned up to 140 indicator only reads 30. What gives? Only thing i can think of is that i might have loosened something when I blew it out last time with my small portable air compressor. Anyone have any help out there?
Reply:I would take it apart after unplugging it and letting the caps discharge. Carefully undo every wire/connector, inspect and clean if necessary, then re-attach. This is what I did when my plasma cutter acted up. It has worked perfectly ever since. If that doesn't work throw it in the trash and get a decent machine this time around

Reply:Thanks for the reply Oscar. I'll try this. As soon as I can get around to rewiring my old garage I've already got a new big red lincoln. The stickweld 140 was tiding me over guess I gotta make time to do some electrical work and hook up my lincoln now. Thanks again.
