Hello Everyone,i am new to page and i just needed some insight. As far as welding is concerned we are good however we need to modernize the business a bit. We've been operating a Fence business for over 50 years now and its time for a little change since the youngins like myself are taking over the company soon (this is a family business BTW). So as the title of this post suggests, and I've also attached a hand drawing below so you can kinda understand what the issue is. Does anyone know or possibly use an application/software either on desktop or on tablet (like and iPad) that you can draw/sketch what we call Fabrication sheets. Basically a fabrication sheet is, in simplest of terms, a list that we hand draw/write that specifies the dimensions of each fence panel, post, gate type of material (whether it be aluminum or galvanized steel) and also the color (because we send it to the powder coating shop once it's done being welded) and the attachment I added shows you exactly what I mean. (it's written in Spanish because our welders only speak Spanish)Please let me know what you guys think or if I should continue make them with pen and paper. Mind you I still need to print out the drawing or sketch so I can laminate it and give it to the welder, as well as have a copy in the customer's folder while it's in production. Drawing it by pen and paper is what my uncle has been doing for years now and it works but because he uses PENS he uses whiteout if there are any mistakes and it just becomes a mess and unclear. But since he's stepping away from the business pretty soon he's been guiding me and showing me out to run the welders and the rest of the shop.

Reply:Thank you Dave, I look into it. If possible I would prefer a tablet app to use the Apple Pencil. I've played with the AutoCAD app and it's not very expensive, the mobile version, however i feel like it's to much and to advanced for what i need.
Reply:What about Sketchup? They still have available for free version download Sketchup Make 2017 ( https://help.sketchup.com/en/downloading-older-versions ) The newer ones are now all web based with a monthly/yearly  fee which I don't agree with but that's just me...........Mike
Reply:I use Lifetrons busines note writer
