I have a 300d I think is a 2010.  Will buy it if I can get it to start.A man offered me a 300d at a reasonable price.  It has been sitting under a tree for 5 or 6 years.  Got it home got it started, but ran sluggish.  So I changed the fuel out put new in, changed all the filters, was going to flush the radiator but now I cannot get it to start. There is no fire going to the switch or the start button.  I ran the electric out and found the starter relay was bad.  Changed it but still no fire to anything.  It has a good hot battery. I got a clicking sound at the kill switch or fuel pump there in the front before I changed everything now I cannot not get nothing, ran a hot wire to the side of the swithch but nothing.  I can jump it at the starter and get it to turn over but it will not start till I can get the fuel turned on.Anyone have any suggestions????? any and all would help.

Reply:I'm looking at the diagram for a Classic 300D with a Kubota. The diagram is blurry though. You said you don't get a click now. The click would have either been a solenoid or a relay. Pull the starter relay and use a test light or a multimeter to check voltage at all the pins. Look at the diagram on the relay to see what pins to check. Key on, you should get voltage to "close" the relay, the start button should send voltage across the "closed" contacts.

Was unhooked in storage, lead looks new, still a little surface corrosion hard to see from sitting.  I start a welder a while back.  I had a portable to do and it ran great, taske it next day and run for crap and all kinds of little stuff, wires even fall off from sitting.  I even test some leads. Neat way to do them is with a heavy battery and load tester.www.urkafarms.com
Reply:When they are stored,,,, I look in the fuel.  In the diesel I might not run it out complete as I might gas but,,,,, I look,,, if its reasonable clean and not water I start and run OLD fuel thru it and out and then some new in and out and then new then change filter.  Old fuel is old but will go thru the engine and slowly cut old varnish out a little at a time.  mEwspecially freash gas, very clean and high detergent, fresh,,, sits in the engine overnight and cuts loose and clogs.  Running the old out for a while first lets it go slow, gives it a little chance to sift the gunk thru.   Did one last 2 days, at least 2 year old gas, half a tank. ran it out one day, put gallon and half the next and it started right up and ran it all out like it was new.www.urkafarms.com
