DIY Small wire spool spindlephotos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1a7zWfyVn2uxAXuF6My spare hardware box supplied all the components, including the large hard rubber washer I bought in 1992 to repair a steam radiator valve. The idea was to have a quick and easy on/off spindle for the small wire spools. The permanent mount anchor plate bolts through the reinforced channel on the chassis, like the main spindle. With the spindle off, the anchor plate does not interfere with the large wire spool.Red locktite on the rear bolt fixes it in place permanently on the spindle rod. The spindle threads on to the anchor hand tight plus a tad with the wrench. Easy off when necessary. The 3/8" threaded rod received 7 or 8 layers of heat shrink tubbing, in successively large IDs from 3/8" to 1/2" to 3/4". The built up layers lock the rear washer in place, which provides a shoulder for the tension spring. The results look very good. The spool sits without sloppy wobble on the spindle and it can be tensioned against the spring to avoid inertia spin.Happy with this mod, overall, but of course Murphy's Law kicks in on the wire feed pressure adjuster.
