Wire Feed Tensioner Bolt - Brokenphotos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/e7dsd5vesQCphvKe8  - Wire Feed, Brokenphotos: https://photos.app.goo.gl/dL7QTjFDvzrb1yhZ6  - All MW275N PhotosBefore I bought this welder, it sat neglected for a long time. Overall in decent shape, but the wire feed tensioner bolt was rust frozen. Soaked with Kroil and worked back and forth. Still it broke off. The threaded post is just too thin to begin with, and is also hollowed out for a tiny retainer screw. Poor design, IMO.I need to find a replacement threaded rod - anyone have one they can sell?I've ordered the closest wire tensioner assembly I could find online, but they all look to be quite cheaply made. The idea is to either luck out and have a new threaded bolt I can transfer into my original wire feed assembly, or just to swap in the new wire feed. In any case, in today's world, I will not be seeing the new parts for over a month. In the meanwhile, I have a temporary method to tension the wire (photo) but this is not the way I want to go longterm.I welcome your feedback and perhaps someone out there has a spare they can sell me.__Mike

Reply:You can't get a piece of square stock, drill a few holes and turn/grind the end down so it can be threaded? If tapping a new setscrew hole would be difficult, perhaps Loctite on the piece it retains, instead?** What about removing the broken piece, cleaning it well, cutting it off square at the neck, and silver soldering a bolt (with the head partially ground flat on its end) to it? Just curious; what is the cross pin for? To keep a contact part from dropping down too far when open, clogging the works?
Reply:I would just make it quick and easy:  whatever threaded rod fits inside the spring , with sides ground flat (where needed), washer and wing nut over spring on top.  Drill hole for the pin.Try to get fine thread for finer adjustment, but I bet coarse will work just (less) fine.
Reply:If it was mind I just a new one.It looks like key stock just turn and thread.Dave

Reply:What are your shops capabilities in terms of machining?I believe there is a pin that is holding the broken part.  You can take that part out and just remake a new one.
