One of the guys In the shop drug the lead down the table and it arced out through the torn rubber. Now the machine when turning on makes a humm the display turns on for a second and then the breaker blows. Does anyone have any idea where to go on this. The lead had since been removed and the cover is off. There's nothing that appears to be burnt, the guys said it made a loud noise when it happened. Any help is appreciated.

Reply:If you have a spare breaker you can put it on just to be sure the breaker wasn't damaged when it went to ground. Or put a voltmeter and a amprobe on the wire and see that the amperage actually is spiking enough that it should be tripping the breaker. Is it wired right to the panel straight on the breaker or plug and cord connected to a outlet ? |
