Hello, so I have a 5th wheel toy hauler that from the factory has a defect. There is not enough support under the wheel wells so my walls above the wheel wells are sinking. The suggested factory repair is to put an additional outrigger from the frame up to the walls, there are none below the walls right now so that's the problem. I took some welding classes a few years ago so I have a decent understanding of welding. I want to know how to weld this without possibly causing frame to crack at the repair. Any Suggestions? Its a 2007 weekend Warrior 35ft 5th wheel. What I want to do is take a piece of 2.5 inch angle iron and make a triangle bracket.

Reply:I have repair shop and from time to time customers need repairs like this, or extend the frame to support a Harley and a golf cart of their 5th wheel!   Lets start with if the factory knows about this problem, let them handle it!!  I turn down all repairs on these trailers, mainly cause the sub flooring has a vapor barrier that melts, insulation thats messy and the steel supports are like 16Gauge stamped channels.  If you could post some pictures of the defective area that would be great! It seemed like a good idea at the time!

Reply:This guy has the exact same problem as me and this is the repair I want to do. This repair is not his suggestion. It's what the factory would actually do to repair it. The trailer is 15 years old, the factory is not going to fix it lol, plus they went out of business in 2008. They are some of the best designed trailers in my opinion and are sought after if they are in good shape, but they have some issues. My Main concern is cracking the frame, I am not worried about melting or catching anything on fire.
Reply:They put angle bracket but to a angle iron going to the other side.I did not see that in video Dave
