Im new to this and bought a l-tec 250hf the guy showed me it worked and is a buddy that offered my money back if it doesnt work. However I can get the arc to start but then it looses it and wont start a puddle I hear about checking the gap but I have no idea where to set that and I cant find a manual anywhere
Reply:send me your email by private message. There are two weak points that will cause you a lot of grief. There is a small relay on the control pcb (one of two) that turns the HF on and off. They fail.I have also replace the HF cap on the HF assembly. Plus I have resoldered all the connects on the HF assembly pcb. The Miller HF cap will bolt right to the pcb. It is a better fix than trying to get one from ESAB. Yellow or green a heliarc 250/350Hf machines are the same. PCB is obsolete but HF parts can be had.learn how to use a multimeter tester safely and we can fix this welder.
