Reply:For peening a weld an air chipping hammer works better. Had to weld up a crack in a manganese crusher roll with 7/32" Nicromang and had to peen every pass else the manganese would crack alongside the weld.Ol' Stonebreaker "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw

Reply:I like using wire wheel on 4" grinder. But I was had to pay air compresser so running a grinder off welder was lower cost. Did use hammer too.Dave
