Industrial welding rods

I obtained a bunch of welding rods through a storage unit I got... they are atom arc 1098.... Is there a need for these or should I scrap them? Thanks
Reply:Atom Arc are good rods but I think you have the numbers wrong. Maybe 9018? It would depend on if they are unopened and general condition. Pics. would be a big help.

Reply:I would try the rods and use for AG welding.I would not use on buildings. When I welding on buildings I use only new rods. I only use old rods on earth moving equipment and AG equipment welding. Dave

Reply:Even if you can’t use them for welding, I’d still hang onto them for other uses such as bending into hooks, and hammering the ends out flat in order to grind them into small scrapers for o-ring grooves,etc.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
