Here is a corner clamp posted on another site and YouTube that looks neat.

Reply:We use something like that at work, so I may have copied it for home. They work well with the vice grip style clamps. Sent from my SM-G960U using TapatalkI haven't built anything I can't throw away.  Perfection is the journey.    Mac
Reply:A rip of Fireball Tool's squares, but I can't fault folks too much since they are expensive, especially with overseas shipping.  Solid design that'd make a good DIY project for folks that are new to welding and fabricating -- especially students.
Reply:They are cheap to make, and can be scaled easily Sent from my SM-G960U using TapatalkI haven't built anything I can't throw away.  Perfection is the journey.    Mac
Reply:I agree with a couple concepts here.  Its easy and cheap to make and great for students and even may find a home in production.  The best thing about all these ideas is using them to make what is needed when its needed.    The fireball is good, it has a place and people take out loans and cash in savings for all kinds of crap so,,,,, what I try to do is match some experience with the cost roi benifit and analyze the tool so to speak.  Same with hand tools.  I try to keep in mind how the tool isnt patriotic and wants to support someones lifestyle except for the end user.   In the end compared to lifes other expenses my tool mistakes have been rather minor but I try to go from first to last assuming I was to need to start over,,, and have,,, what did I replace and what did I get back?   Also what has changed since I first started shopping.  A cheap adjustable was junk when I was a kid.  Tools cost more then, harder to find.  Its now hard to find the stamped India tool and the 40 piece socket set used to cost 5$.   Good reason for this due to the cost of a better tool dropping so much its not worth buying something useless.  I was not an early adopter and a bit of a second level too snob but stuff worked its way in, we suplimented thinking some of it would have a limited life but use in a hard industry has proven otherwise and anyone needing a wrench to save or make money should hike it right down to HF and score what they need to git er dun.    You can "invest"  or afford depreciation later, some other day but a guy can buy a 12 inch adjustable retail at the auto parts now for under 15$ and its a really good tool, the supplier buyer looked, some they chose for cost but like Stanley, great neck etc they spec for a decent tool, they dont wanna be a warranty change out like the dopes at Sears.www.urkafarms.com
Reply:I bought some stuff, a couple pieces ended up as useful as they are, a couple not but my most used stuff is really stuff I make up or collect and do like the op on occasion make up in finish fashion and keep it.   I really try to do as much as humanly possible off the shelf from existing tools and use my clamps a lot.   I dont have a lot and use each a little, I migrated to fewer that do more, have a few I use a lot and do not think so much in sets.   Lots of times copy 1 piece from a set I need but,,,, the HF and jobber, kalvan napa level tools do and have worked well so it makes some more sense to buy at times than it used to. The variety is wider now and so much cheaper and having bought 30 new screwdrivers this last spring pretty well convinced I aint gonna be paying more than 2$ for one for a long while.  I did test some first but those are in todays dollars.    I gott go to work again.www.urkafarms.com
Reply:It bothers me that the weld on the tube is clamped over.
Reply:As others have noted, it's a complete rip off of the fireball tools squares, ESPECIALLY the tabs. I'd much rather give my money to Jason at Fireball tools, and get it made out of cast iron and machined for accuracy.
Reply:I believe he said he built these? Be different if he was producing for sale.www.urkafarms.com
Reply:I like his build and process.  I made several before fireball product came out as i am sure many fabricator have done so, also.Pretty satisfied with my fireball set of 4.  Do hold spatter.
Reply:Absolutely a fine type of project but wouldnt save enough worjk the rest of my life to make back the work of making them.   Basically all those special tools aint nothin I cant do with a couple clamps and a square. I was on a nuke, never saw a certiflat table and 90% of the whole place assembled with a torpedo level and a combination square.   I understand wanting it, tyhat is a different matter than improving/more real easier work but taking care of all than stuff when a clamp will do is harder sometimes than being simple.  Probably 95% of the work I do where something like that would even work is only 2 simple pieces joined, very rare to build a major hi accurate deal that aint a tool to make more tools etc.  There becomes a point while its all nice cant buy or even build my way out of being any faster.    I master not putting or using more but less. First time we did it took 4 cuts and 5 clamps and we end up moving a tack and using 3 clamps and 2 cuts etc. Rather change a clamp than build one, been so long since I use it but finally got done before I find one of my half clamps.
