I would like to know if a 480 volt welder will weld differently than 220 volt welder? My welding process is MIG, Dual shield flux core and SMAW. Also, amperage settings shouldn’t differ because amperage is 10 amps with either voltages. I use various settings from different welding calculators and I adjust my weld process.Last edited by cwillaz89$; 13 Hours Ago at 02:40 PM.Reason: Amperage
Reply:No, its really a matter of power.www.urkafarms.com
Reply:As long as your power source can supply the welding machine with the required volts and amps for your setting it should make no difference. However all machines may not have the same setting for 10 amps or whatever you want marked the same.Retired - Refrigeration Pipefitter - Master Electrician-  IowaLots of Hobbys
