Hey guys, does anyone use the STT II machine with the STT-10 wire feeder? I'm trying to butt weld 1/8" 409 stainless steel with .035" 409Nb wire. It's working but I think it could be better. Does anyone want to share their settings? It'd be much appreciated!Last edited by WhoopD; 10 Hours Ago at 05:00 PM.Reason: Delete duplicate words
Reply:I think the STT-10 wire feeder is stand alone type odds are there is no real chart .You will have to use wire speed and voltage Dave

Reply:STT machines are a different animal than a normal MIg. Open the owner's manual and look for the set up charts. If there is not a exact one use one that has the same size wire and plate size. Then make small adjustments to the wire speed or voltage. write down your changes so you can back track if weld changes to much. OR call Lincoln tech support and ask them for the set up sheet that will work for what you are doing. Blindly trying to set one of these up does not work. When dialed in they weld great. right over an open root with no burn throughs. The STT process can detect the edge of the metal and turn down the heat then back up when on the other side. |
