I have a 140 pro Mig that is giving me trouble. I"m using 030 wire with a gas mix. Machine will turn on but when I try to weld I get no penetration and crappy response no matter the setting on panel ( seems to be worse on higher setting). No idea whats going on with machine, Wire feeds fine it is on it's own outletJessLast edited by JessC; 9 Hours Ago at 06:19 PM.
Reply:Verify good grounding on shiny metal. Verify polarity for gas (MIG) if you recently used fluxcore.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
Reply:Metal is clean ans machine is set for non flux (never had flux core on machine)

Reply:Get a multi meter. Connect it to the polarity panel. read open circuit volts. Then short the miggun to the work. If it drops real low miggun is ok. But if DC volts stay near the open circuit reading. Miggun has a failing weld conductor in the miggun.Common problem for the magnum 100L miggun to fail open. weld conductor breaks under the rubber strain relief right where the trigger wires come out. You can pull the strain relief back and look in.If the voltage drops way low when output is shorted. Check the voltage tap switch. They can get burnt and worn out. After that you will have to check all connections in the weld circuit inside the welder. Once and a while connection to the diode assemble get burnt and loose.
