Buried Dad Today

Buried my father today, it was a really nice ceremony they send two representatives in full dress from the army out to do taps and fold the flag. I put his last TIG torch in with him I know he will need it where ever he goes. He will be missed. That damn Alzheimer dementia got him.

Reply:Hell Bill, bad news.Once he's gone, and if your Mom's gone.............................you're alone in the world.  Family, kids, maybe...........but once your parents are gone, you're pretty much on your own.Dad's down at Fort Gibson, Mom's at the tribal cemetery.  See them when I can.I dread the day K'kins Mom passes.BTW Bill.............we're probably both candidates for Alzheimers, you and me.  Runs in families, despite a lot of people denying that their kin weren't right at the end.  And....we live long enough these days for the eventual onset of Alzheimers........it's just a fact of life.You take care.  The grieving comes when all the work of taking care of the particulars wears off.  Takes time.

Reply:I'm sorry about that William.    It doesnt sound as bad as some diseases like cancer..., or that he had extensive suffering.So, it coulda been worse.   We all gotta go, and I and some of us  don't want to live to be too old.
