thermal dynamic plasma cutter

I'm New to this forum and need some help with a thermal dynamic plasma cutter. I have a Thermal Dynamics PakMaster 100 XL Plus.When I bought it the plasma gun was missing. I hooked air and power to it and the fan come right on and about 5 seconds later you could hear a magnetic starter click on and air started blowing out the hose end where the gun goes. Just wondering if these machines will do this with the gun wires not attached. By it engaging the magnet starter by it self without the wires touching, I think that there is something bad with one of the circut boards Does anyone out there that could help me with this machine? I'm new  Thank

Reply:Thanks for the info. This machine has the new adapter/conversion kit but someone robbed the gun. I was wanting to find out if the machine has a problem before I buy a new gun. I just don't understand the magnet starter coming on when the wires are not touching each other. Thanks again.
