Converting dump body from scissor hoist to telescopic - building a doghouse

I'm thinking about building myself a new dog house

The truck I recently purchased has a scissor style hoist. The cylinder is leaking badly, and I'd like to reduce the overall height by removing the scissor hoist and subframe assembly and using a telescopic headboard mounted lift cylinder. This will mean moving the hinge points to the truck frame, and building a crossmember for the base end of the cylinder, and modifying the headboard (which needs repairs anyway) for top end of the cylinder.Has anyone done this before?
