Miller big 50. Is the power originating from the generator AC or DC? And what would the voltage be?

Reply:I've read the entire manual and it does not mention anything about what type current originates from the generator. It talks about AC and using it as a backup generator and even how to hook it up on one that is factory prepared for it, mine isn't that's why I need to know where to connect my 240 breaker and transfer switch. If it's original current is AC inverted to DC for welding I could figure the rest out. If it's original current is DC inverted to AC I would need to know where that takes place. Thanks for your interest.
Reply:Those machines use a 3 phase alternator rectified to DC for weld output. Couldn't tell you what the 3phase voltage is though.
Reply:Check it with a multimeter. I'm pretty sure they use an alternator to generate AC though.Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power
