What’s everyone’s thoughts on these water coolers on eBay? Looks similar to the htp cooler, a Chinese clone I’m guessingMaybe someone here has some feedback

Reply:I tried one a year or so ago and it worked fine, so I decided to add one to my Everlast...big mistake.  It would barely move water, so after spending a week back and forth with the seller relaying pictures and videos to "the factory" they finally refunded my money and I sent it back.  Here's the review I posted on eBay:I've purchased three of these so far. The first one worked perfectly and I was even happy how quiet it was compared to the big name coolers I've used. Because of that, I ordered a second unit, but it would barely put out any water. With the tank full, given plenty of time to prime, and just the output hose connected to the chiller I could stop the flow with my finger (it should spray all over the place). I could feel a bit of a pulsing against my finger, but that was it. Holding the output hose above the unit pointed vertically it would only push the water upwards a couple of inches when it should go at least a couple of feet. Hooked up to a brand new 12.5ft TIG torch I could only get water to flow if the torch was held below the chiller (meaning it was mostly just gravity). I made a video of this and initiated a return, which went smoothly. I decided to try another unit and got the exact same results. This time I pulled the cover off the unit to check for pinched lines and found nothing. I noticed that the pump had mostly Chinese writing, but did have "230V" on the data plate, which had me wondering if they made a run with the wrong pump....it should be 110-120V. The pump had a switch that possibly could be a selector for 115/230V, but it was only marked with Chinese characters, and hot glued to a fixed position so it could have also been just a power switch. I was really excited to find an affordable chiller that worked pretty well and wasn't loud, but after two defective units in a row I'm not going to try again. I did notice that the two bad units shipped from different states, but had the same assembly date of 04/2020 listed on the back, so I'm not even confident there were just a couple of bad units assembled and wound up in one place.Check out my bench vise website:  http://mivise.comMiller Syncrowave 250DXMillermatic 350P with XR AlumaProMiller Regency 200 with 22A feeder and Spoolmatic 3Hobart Champion EliteEverlast PowerTig 210EXT
Reply:The real question should be, how much did your torch cost and how much do you like it?Plenty cooler breakdowns caused plenty of nice expensive Weldcraft/speedway torches to burn up over the years...Murphy's Golden Rule: Whoever has the gold, makes the rules.
Reply:Might be built like the HTP cooler, too. ...the dreaded flow alarm nonsense
Reply:I wonder if the dynaflux coolers are worth the big price tag or just build oneSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reply:I have the HTP cooler and the pump and/or motor is Made in Italy. EBay junk is from a different planet. Just sayin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ProHTP Invertig 221H w/ CK20 water-cooled torch  •  Lincoln PowerMig 210MP  •  Hypertherm PowerMax 45XP  •  Optrel Crystal 2.0
Reply:It took me about two years to put mine together, I'm still working on posting a build thread. The pictures are scattered across 2years of other stuff. Just never had any big chunk of time to work on it . I had all the parts for it, started collecting them 5 years before. If I were to need another one, I would buy it. There are a few vendors selling budget coolers with pretty good warranties out there. I did enjoy making mine out of all sorts of assorted scrap, mostly the stainless. If I had to purchase all the stainless, pipes, and fittings it would have been cheaper to buy one. Fortunately I had just scrapped several old machines that had all the stuff I needed. I did spend a lot of time cleaning the parts off though. Good luck with whatever you choose , and post  up some pic's of whatever you build or buy.

Reply:A friend has a repair facility and bought one of these coolers. After burning up 2 customer torches he sent it back and bought a used Bernard for the same price with a spare pump. I did the same a couple years back.
