I purchased a used, Miller syncrowave 250DX, about a month ago. I have tig welded with a low end, air cooled, machine in the past. However, I have limited experience with the cooling setup on these units, as well as the other settings on the machine. I tried finding a few of these items listed below, without success.I tested the torch connections, to the water cooler, welder, last night. It had a few leaks, and I would like to fix this torch. It is a weldcraft WP-20 unit.1) These left hand, Brass fittings, mounted on the front of the Coolmate 3 - where can I purchase some replacements? This way I can start with fresh brass fittings.2)This hose - what is this small red hose in charge of? Where can I get a replacement for it? 3) Can I get new brass ends for the red and blue lines, and have them crimped on, or do I need to purchase brand new lines.4)Ive heard about quick connect fittings; should I upgrade to those? Do they replace the fittings I mentioned in #1?

Reply:Honestly ditch the torch and get a new #20 from HTP america. It will come with virtually everything you need, except mabye a stud to DINSE connector which is easy to buy or make. https://usaweld.com/collections/mill...rh_gas_fittinghttps://store.cyberweld.com/tigtopoad1th.htmlMiller Multimatic 255
Reply:When I owned a Syncrowave, I made my own DINSE female to stud adapters, because the one like I linked to above wouldn't let me close the access panel. Easy enough to do.

Reply:What are dinse connectors? Are they an upgrade over the original, threaded version? Its a long story, but the owner of this unit before me had the cooler upside down, again long story, but I was able to get everything for a good price.I rebuilt the cooler, and it works great, but there was a lot of corrosion in the fittings mounted on the front panel out of the unit - they should be replaced in my opinion.Last edited by Smi_tty; 14 Hours Ago at 12:55 PM.
Reply:Might want to rig your torch such that there's not so much strain on your hoses. In some of your pics, the hoses look like they're suspending cinderblocks from the ceiling and are stretched out like rubber bands. Making the hoses bend at such sharp angles right at the fittings is just asking for trouble, if you ask me. I have my Sync 250 set up such that the hoses come out of the fittings nice and square, and are nice and relaxed, neither hanging down and kinking, nor stretched out and bent hard at the fitting (and I still got a leak in one of mine...which I repaired with some polyester cloth and some 3M 5200 Marine Adhesive Sealer because I didn't want to spend $25 plus $20 shipping for an 11-inch hose...YMMV)...
