Hobie as we called it, would run 3/8" round carbons or 1/4"x 5/8" rectangulars without a stutter.

Reply:There no problem gouging where I live gouging has fire problem. The sparks will go everywhere and you under hood. Dave

Reply:I'm no SA expert but my old pipeliner welding instructor who overhauls his own refuses to gouge with his and uses a cutting torch instead. He is why we scored a 600A Lincoln for gouging rather than beat on school machines.
Reply:I doubt it hurts them, gives the engine a little workout.
