Anyone have a suggestion as to where to buy50-75 of 3/8-16 threaded rod?Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
Reply:I hate to say it, Fastenal. If there are any other nut and bolt suppliers I would go there. Shipping is sometimes expensive on threaded rod because it's often considered oversize or over length. A hvac company may be another option. My local supplier,( packer fastener) stocks it in regular grade, B7 and stainless steel in various lengths.
Reply:Electrical supply houses such as City Electric usually stock it. So do plumbing supply houses such as Ferguson, and industrial Supply companies.Miller Trailblazer Pro 350DMiller Suitcase MIGMiller Spectrum 2050Miller Syncrowave 250DXLincoln 210MP

Reply:What lengths your looking for ? As suggested that should be available local at electric or plumbing supply. You have to know the game and ask them kindly to not screw you as a cash walk in and ring it up under a account holder at least.
Reply:I have 10' lengths from Action Bolt in nashville.
Reply:Things I’ve priced at Fastenal were expensive. Iguess they discount for corporate accounts.I didn’t think to try local electrical supplier. Going to stop in there Tuesday. They give me a “discount”..Local plumbing supplier doesn’t. I need peices about 25” and 16”.Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
Reply:Home Depot and Menards by me both have 3/8 threaded rod usually in stock in various lengths (been hit or miss lately on some things) in electrical or plumbing departments. I know the electrical department here has 10 footers as I just bought some a couple weeks ago. Graingers is also an option. Just about any plumbing or electrical wholesaler should have it as well.AlphaTIG 200DXLincoln PowerMIG 210MPDayton 250amp AC/DC Arc WelderVictor O/A Torch Set
Reply:My steel supplier will special order any length you want. I got a bunch of 1/2" in twenty foot lengths a few years back for pipe supports in a boiler house.
Reply:Do you need the thread along the entire length?https://www.fastenersplus.com/produc...d-Plain-Finish

McMaster-Carr has connector rods in 36" lengths, but not in 3/8-16. No idea why they wouldn't carry that size in stock, but it got me thinking it might be more economical to make your own with some cold-rolled steel bar rather than pay out the whazzoo for that much all-thread if you don't need the threads going the entire length of the bar.
Reply:Wish you were closer, I would give you more than you could ever use for free. |
