This is not my video, it's just a video that I found interesting.  Looks like a multi-part series...

Reply:That's so funny. It is interesting. He talks about the HTP not shorting out.  The actual place where bird's nest are likely to happen is NOT behind the drive feed system.  There's no tension or stress on that area, and bird's nesting is the most unlikely thing to happen in that area. It's in front. Then the guy goes on to state that there were not hot lugs on the HTP, but right in front of the wire feeder, there is one staring him in the face.  And ironically, that is where birds nests are likely to happen.  I think he is a ringer for HTP or he has no clue what he is talking about...because he also mentions there is no "wire speed" control, and he doesn't even know wire feed speed and amp control are the same thing, and amp control in something like this is far more valuable since wire feed speed is mostly meaningless in pulse and with varying wire diameters, wire speed is going to be different, but amps will remain the same value. And he mentions the tensioner being held from one side.  The system is specifically designed to exert nearly equal pressure on both rolls, which promotes smooth feeding and does reduce the chance of bird's nesting. We'll see what else he expertly "observes".   I think the fix is in.  Misleading and misinformed already in the first video. hmmm.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:He did follow up with a part 2, which was very interesting with the ammeter clamped on to the work clamp to show the actual amperage.

Reply:He posted yet another part, comparing the internals of the machines

Reply:Yes.  He completely ignored the same features/issues he described on the Everlast, when comparing the 221.  He also made a few false statements.  He said there are no conformal coatings on the boards. But there are.  The boards look and appear the same as the HTP.   His comments on through hole technology were based on opinion and not on application.  His view of our fan setup was completely biased and did not mention that the fan blows on both sides of the heat sink.  He talked about ferrite cores on the HTP, but ignored the obvious ones used on the Everlast.  He talked about the lack of stand-offs, wraps and ties then suddenly he mentioned the obvious ones on the board, and may wraps and ties were visible.  But when the HTP is shown, wiring is similar without standoffs. He made many errors and biased comments that were not based in fact.  I am wondering if this guy was actually paid by HTP or fed information from HTP? He tries to exert himself as an authority, but then comments he is only a hobbyists, then exerts "expert" commentary on the electronics, but makes little or no mention of his background to qualify him to do so.   Also its further suspicious this is a new Youtube account and only videos he has posted. If anything, it is embarrasing for HTP if they gave him so much erroneous comparison info. Like one of his posters commented: Stick to how the machine performs, and that he pretty much was biased from the beginning.  His words paraphrased.  So I think any thinking person can see this.  But anyone can see that this was carefully planned and worded, and conveniently cut.  I also noticed he blocked out the unit's serial number on the Everlast with a black box.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:Keeps getting interesting in general to see the machines being compared....I mainly find it interesting since I have the Pro Pulse 220MTS, but the 253dpi does have it's own nice set of features.his part 4and his part 5

Reply:C'mon Oscar, you can't be seriously promoting this.  Is this you?  His comments are so one sided it's hilarious at this point.  The pm's and support we've gotten for this biased, possibly funded comparison has been great for us, but it is making HTP look foolish.  The guy has spatter all over, graininess in the weld, huge crater, no visible penetration, soot all over the HTP welded one and says he has great penetration, and says it's really clean and any soot issues was his error.  Yet when the obviously cleaner, better penetrating weld on the Everlast with shiny bright welds and almost perfect penetration even visible on the back side, the guy slights the Everlast for the very thing that the HTP has wrong with it.Last edited by lugweld; 01-11-2020 at 11:33 PM.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT
Reply:I don't know who that is really.  It for sure ain't me, and it sure ain't my place, it's way too clean! lol.   I'm not saying he's correct on everything he is saying; it's simply the only comparison video between two double-pulse machines that I've found, and I found it interesting, that's all.
