After drooling over the Vulcan OmniPro since it came out I broke down and bought it in August. Since then Ive mig, tig and stick welded with it and I have to say it is now my favorite welder. However it has one minor thing that doesnt seem quite right to me. Sometimes when I turn it on in mig mode it opens the two gas solenoids for about 1 second. First it opens the solenoid for the regular mig gun then it opens the one for the spool gun. It only does this sometimes when I turn it on and Im wondering if anyone else has an OmniPro that does this? It doesn't do it every time maybe one time out of three. My "collection":Homemade Stick WelderVictor O/A TorchAC 225Ideal Arc 250HF 90 Amp Flux CoreHF Mig 170Solar 2020 Plasma CutterPower i-Mig 140EHarris O/A torchHF Dual Mig 131140STAlpha Tig 200x
Reply:Could that simply be to purge the lines? Most laptops and some PC's power up with the fan on max for a few seconds to blow out lint. This might be similar.HF MIG-180 with all the mods.Grizzly H8153 Stick/Tig Pulse 130/160.Wards PowrKraft AC-230. Stick & carbon arc.

Reply:could it depend on which setting you had it set last at shut down?
Reply:I guess I would not open the gas until a minute after powering up?Or take it back for exchange or refund.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR"

Reply:At a setting of 20 cubic feet per hour, two seconds of gas isn't going to amount to much
