I've got a 2012 Bobcat 225 with 23hp Kohler. When it's cold out (below maybe 60°) it has issues with making any sort of power. I've had no issues all summer but now that it's getting colder it is doing it again. After you start the engine it doesn't put out any power to the leads or outlets, nothing. After between 1 and 5 minutes it usually starts working fine. Today I ran it for 30 minutes and had no output so I found another way to do the job. Tonight I fire it up and it makes power in 1 minute. I replaced the brushes last fall because it had this issue but that certainly hasn't fixed it. What's the deal?Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
Reply:Have you checked the connections and fusesfor the excitation coil. The schematic in the manual shows wire numbers etc. helping to find components and connectors. 60 is cold ? In Michigan?Miller a/c-d/c Thunderbolt XLMillermatic 180 Purox O/ASmith Littletorch O/AHobart Champion Elite
Reply:I'm a little late to the party, so you have probably fixed it by now. A weak battery will do strange things to a welding machine. to keep it simple, I would put a fresh battery on it and see if it helps. My brother in law has a Pipe Pro that would not act right when first started. It ended up being the battery. Acting up when it gets cooler sounds like the same thing. It's just a thought.BobMiller Bobcat 225G+Miller AC Thunderbolt 225VLincoln AC 225 TombstoneHobart Handler 190 migVictor O/A rigHypertherm powermax 600
