Reply:Please use punctuation. it is hard to tell what you are trying to say.first you say it welds then you say you have to do something with the contactor to weld. what is it? The contactor is controlled by either the foot control or the panel switch. Is the welder a dialarc 250 ACDC or a dialarc HF.The dialarc 250 does not have a contactor, only a power switch and terminals are hot all the time. The dialarc HF has a contactor. if this is what you have you should read around 115 volts on the contactor coil terminals with either the switch in panel of remote control on. turn HF switch to off when working on the welder. HF will kill all dvmms used for measuring voltages in the welder.if switch or remote are on and no voltage at the coil. you will need to measure at CR3. Try measuring between welder case and the W coil. should read zero volts until switch is closed. one side will still be zero and the other will have 115 volts.find the diagram for the welder. will either be pasted on the cover or in the owner's manual. you will want to look at wires 1,2,3 and 4,  W is the contactor.wire 4 is connected to case ground. wire 1 comes from the 115 volt circuit breaker.wire 2 is on the contactor. wire 3 goes to CR2 coil. CR2 turns the HF on. IF CR2 is pulling in and W is not, then TP1 is open. if transformer is cold the either TP1 has failed or a wire is broken. TP1 will have to be bypassed or replaced with some type of thermostat glued to a transformer coil. TP1 is part of the transformer.
Reply:Got it,... Had a issue with the new nema contactor
