Hobart GA600 Mig Gun

Howdy folks; I have a Hobart dcc-353p engine drive, the military one with the Perkins motor and air compressor. It came with a Hobart model 70 wire feeder and a GA600 gun, as well as a crate full of parts for it all; but I seem to be missing one!My first quest is to attempt to find parts for this gun. The second would be to see what modern guns can take it's placeWhat I appear to be missing is possibly an insulator or diffuser. I understand the nozzles are hose clamped down, but the part it's supposed to snug down to is what I'm missing, photos should be attached at the bottomI'll also add photos of the butt end, I'm curious what kind of fun might take it's place. Or if I'll need to just change the business end of thingsThanks all for any information you may have



Reply:Ok, I'll take a stab at it. If you cant find or fab the parts, buy another gun. Taking apart the plug end isnt difficult. The problem I see is the way that one works. It looks to me the wire feeds into the nipple on the end then the gas hose and trigger wires are separate from the wire liner.The way most guns are now the liner is fed through the gas hose, and that is wrapped around with the power wire.I think what you could do is take a newer gun apart, and maybe put a "T" in the gas hose, and run the liner through it, and put the gas hose on the "T" that way. The problem would be sealing the T fitting where the liner goes through it to the welder, so your gas dosnt leak out that way. IDK, maybe go to a teflon liner and glue it in? You would also have to put a lug on the power cable and connect it to the big tab that I would assume is the power from the welder, wiring the trigger leads would be easy.

There is a good chance that Tweco makes an adaptor block to fit the feeder and use one of their guns. There also may be a chance they have a diffuser adaptor for that gun. I converted a Systematics gun to Tweco frontend parts once, it was nice to use stuff that was in stock at the LWS.
Reply:Wonderful thank you all!  I was over at a friends welding shop looking at how to adapt one of his bernard guns and it didn't look too bad.  This tweco adapter shenanigan should make things quite a bit easier!  Unfortunately my LWS is a pain on anything that might require them to do some work, besides just selling me a new machine that is
