Reply:Sad and unfortunate,I just don’t understand in incidents like this, is it ignorance, a lapse, or lack of common sense? Why didn’t he make an effort to educate himself? It’s a shame, the man lost his life over something so preventable. I feel for his family and friends. I hate that things like this make it into the news, it causes panic, and before you know it people are going to start looking at me sidewards when I roll out my bottles from the garage.-Mark SmithMiller Bobcat 250Vulcan ProTig200Vulcan MigMax215Everlast PowerArc 210STLHypertherm PowerMax45 Xp
Reply:Of course its ignorance. Dirt cheap chinese crap welding equipment doesnt help things either. Everybody thinks theyre an expert weldor via ching ving hoeYou see it on this forum all the timeInexperienced people looking to make a trailer to tow down the highway made out of old bed frames and stitched together with a 110v Harbor freight welder...Not one of them takes five minutes to read any of the important information on this website/forum that has been repeated 1000 times. One look at that guy with the coffee can muffler in his hand and the tig torch in the other tells me something.

Reply:I would have expected O2 and acetylene in the same tank would have been less stable? He filled the tank and transported it and surely needed some pressure to get anything into the tank. What size tank was it since he attached a torch head to it ?

Reply:And he attached the torch DIRECTLY to the bottle, to avoid messing with those annoying hoses. What a genius. He's holding a TIG torch in the picture. I wonder what his TIG beads look like. Kinda leaves you breathless. Wow.-RuarkLincoln 3200HDHobart Stickmate LX235TWECO Fabricator 211i
Reply:Well, he knew how to use his wiener properly to make at least 3 kids, but couldn't take the time to learn what not to do with the welding gasses.Oh well... one less boneheadT man.15 + years working for myself, and by golly, I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.

Lord have mercy, my dad made sure I KNEW the dangers of oxy/acetylene torches BEFORE I was allowed to to touch it, then I was allowed to use it under his supervision until he was certain I knew what I was doing. His dad was a blacksmith and got his acetylene from a carbide generator and knew full well the dangers of getting acetylene that way.IMPEACH BIDEN!NRA LIFE MEMBERUNITWELD 175 AMP 3 IN1 DCMIDSTATES 300 AMP AC MACHINEGOD HELP AMERICA!Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didnt pass it to our children in the bloodstream".RONALD REAGAN

He walked over to the remains of the shed to look for Miller."He started calling out 'Josh, Josh'."He said, 'Can you help me man' and his face looked completely normal. Not panicked or anything."O'Neill's initial reaction was that Miller may not have been badly injured because he was able to speak. But it wasn't until O'Neill went to grab him by the arm that he realised the extent of Miller's injuries."I reached down for his arm. I looked down and there was no arm there..."I thought, 'I can't grab that because it was all shredded up'. Then I went to grab his legs and there were no legs there."O'Neill said he could just see Miller's abdomen the organs exposed."I said, 'Howard I don't know where to grab you'."I ran to get help then I turned straight back because I couldn't just leave him there."Miller's head then slumped backwards. He died in front of O'Neill's eyes. |
