I remember drooling over these hanging on the rack atRadio Shack when I was

a kid(maybe 9 or 10),thinking how cool they were.So I couldn’t turn it down. Like a lot of things I couldn’t turn down, now I don’t know what to do with it.Probably never get gas cartridges for it, once I use gasthat came with it.

We had it on the ambulance back in the day (in blue "D" tanks, on a demand valve) and so long as you mixed it with oxygen it was pretty harmless. We used to abuse it all the time. The real badness that NOX can cause is hallucinations. The last time I was at the dentist, she was overly aggressive with gas, and I had the WORST hallucinations. But turn the gas down and that all resolves instantly.
Reply:I used to whip a lot of cream back in the day ... now I take my Coltrane "neat."

Reply:haha... this talk just reminded me of an episode of that show Live PD where they investigated some car in a parking lot.. there was someone inside that had been doing whippets and there were empty cartridges all over the place...

Reply:Very cool that brings back alot of good old memorize. One thing i always drooled over that i saw in a catalog was a Unimat lathe. It was in a blue book catalog. I dont remember if i know what it did but i wanted one. I bought one at a garage sell. Its a great little lathe.
Reply:I had one of those . I used it for soldering/brazing slot car frames. As I recall it worked for what I needed it for , just not for any length of time. The cylinders emptied pretty fast. I just tossed mine a few weeks ago.
Reply:No safety glass.Dave
