Gentlemen;  Fresh from a barn find.  I have this old gas powered welder and have no clues as to who may have made it.  Can you identify it ? Anyway here's some help. Gauge of side of welder  says "Lincoln"  Inside the frame I found this Arcontron Works Electric Mfg., Model T , Los Angles, Calif. Any help would be deeply appreciated.  Not the gas tank above the welder !  Yes it  was powered by a Ford Flathead V8.

Reply:First the V-8 chainsaw now the V-8 welder! I'd say it's pretty rare.
Reply:That thing is a monster! If you have the time and budget might be a real fun project. If it said Lincoln on the side it could be a modified motor generator of some sort.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
Reply:Scary looking beast

That knife switch says to keep  children away. from the days when they did everything with nothing.

research as much as you can on it and try to restore, nice find.

Reply:My god man, you have a true collectors item. If my eyes do not deceive me, that looks to be a 21 bolt F-head Ford V8 which was made from 1932 through early 1938! It had 3 babbitt mains. Does it run? If it does or not, there is someone somewhere that wants it if not that the machine belongs in the Smithsonian! Here is an interesting read:  http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/...athead-engine/What a wonderful find. I'd love to fire it up with some 1/4" 7018, ooooyeah. But then the poor girl would probably croak knocking itself to death on modern gas.
Reply:Knife switch and no apparent current controls makes me think it's for large flood lights or something.

Reply:It doesn’t look like any Lincoln welder I’ve seen. They made SAE200 and bigger welder units for the end user to add the engine.  Doesn’t look familiar Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkSteveMiller Dialarc 250 (1990)Miller Maxstar 140 STR (2003)Lincoln SA200 Redface Pipeliner (1966)Lincoln MP210 (2015)Victor and MECO torches
