I have a couple of sycrowave 300's. I bought them cheap from HGR. One works flawless, the other has a couple of bad SCR's. It's taking up space, but for how cheap i got them, i'm reluctant to just get rid of it. I know the black box in the syncro can go bad, but how likely is it? I believe i have the scr's needed to fix sitting around somewhere here.So here's my dilemma: I have limited shop space and on the floor right now, i have a 330A/BP, a cp300, a cp200, and 2 syncrowave 300s. I really only need one of the CPs and one of the 300s. I kept the old 330 because it's such a nice welder and i figured if the300 ever had a problem i could pull it back out and keep running until the 300 was fixed. I've thought about plastic wrapping the 330 and spare syncro and putting on pallet racking in the machine shed. I've thought about selling them.I've thought about stripping failure prone parts and scrapping the rest. I hate to scrap good machines though. Are the 300's really that prone to fail?If you were in my shoes, what would you do? I need to do something though, i'm about out of space!Miller Syncrowave 300(s)Miller 330 A/BPMiller CP-200 Haas / Kamp'd / CP-300 in processMiller Radiator 1Miller 30A /S-52E feedersHobart GR-303
Reply:I feel yer pain. I sold my syncro 300 and bought an HTP221 not quite the full out power of the 300, but enough for what I do.and the space savings was well worth it.Miller 211Hypertherm PM 451961 Lincoln Idealarc 250HTP 221 True Wisdom only comes from Pain.
Reply:I hear you as well. I'm not ready for inverters though. i hate how hard/cost effective they are to fix. And i'm not quite that short on space. But enough i don't want 5 big welders in the shop. Reply:Can you fab up some brackets and store the spare machines on the walls? (assuming the walls are strong enough to support the weight). In my woodshop I built some mezzanines in a couple of places for additional storage. They work great.Another option may be a section of pallet racking where you store the parts machines on the upper shelves.Miller Trailblazer Pro 350DMiller Suitcase MIGMiller Spectrum 2050Miller Syncrowave 250DXLincoln 210MP
Reply:I have pallet racking but not really a forklift yet. That was a thought I had already. Was hoping for more of an assessment how likely the syncros were to break so I know if I can broom one.Sent from my LG-TP450 using TapatalkMiller Syncrowave 300(s)Miller 330 A/BPMiller CP-200 Haas / Kamp'd / CP-300 in processMiller Radiator 1Miller 30A /S-52E feedersHobart GR-303 |
