Anyone know of any companies out my way I live in volant PA or does anyone know how the work is in South Carolina I'm also willing to relocate
Reply:In the W. Pa area, lots of work if you don't mind the low rates. $14-16/hr. Always advertising on indeed, and craig'slist. Don't know about union work, might be pretty busy, though.
Reply:Yeah that's what I'm running in to sometimes even less pay I'm looking for a shop that I could really start learning and perfecting my craft all the other job I've been seem to just be labor which I don't mind but I really like to weld and I paid a lot of money to go to school just don't want it to go to waste

Reply:I'm trying to find a tig job but the only experience I have with tig is school I been out of school for 2 years now only real experience I have is gmaw,fcaw,smaw what is some tips you guy can give for find a tig job with just the basics tig experience

Reply:I can give you a couple of thoughts to ponder on. I just hired a kid in his late 20s who did trade school, worked in a low paid sheet metal fab shop for a couple of years, and went back to bicycle mechanics until recently. Seeing what low cost imports has done to decimate high end cycles, he is under a lot of pressure to repair junk for almost nothing. So he has come to work for me part time doing tig work and also works the bike shop part time. He is working some 60 hours a week combined and learning real tig skills. This is the sacrifice he is making. I also encourage newbie tig welders to pick up a dual voltage 200 amp tig. I currently have two of them at my disposal, one at work for on site jobs and one for my garage at home. My kid has one he uses for work at work, and one also for his garage. We both download a derth of metalurgical publications as well as keeping a library of specs. We are never without a tig for keeping our skills sharp and trying new methods. We both have a Dynasty200 and Lincoln200.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR"
